Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you offer physical therapy for horses?
A: While I don't provide formal physical therapy for horses (which must be veterinarian-supervised), the bodywork I offer is aimed at optimizing movement and preventing injuries.
Q: Do I need a referral for physical therapy for myself?
A: In California you can directly access physical therapy services without a doctor's referral, so we can get started right away! If you are seeking wellness and performance services only, a referral is never required. If seeking treatment for an injury, a doctor's approval will become required after 45 days of treatment or 12 visits, whichever comes first. I will help you navigate this if it becomes relevant.
Q: What modalities and services do you offer?
A: For horses I offer massage therapy, assessment of general mobility, taping, and cup therapy. For riders I bring a treatment table and work on a thorough evaluation of strength and mobility, followed by treatment as appropriate. Treatment for riders may include joint mobilizations, soft tissue work, stretching, cup therapy, kinesiotaping, and a targeted app-based exercise program
