About
Pain at the front of the knee is one of the most common complaints among equestrians. Hours spent riding, posting, mounting, dismounting, and working around the barn can place repetitive stress on the kneecap and surrounding muscles, often leading to stiffness, discomfort, and pain. In this short course, you'll learn two simple cupping techniques that can be used at home to temporarily reduce tension around the knee and improve tissue mobility. You'll learn: A silicone cup technique for patellar decompression to help reduce compression around the kneecap. A four-cup rectus femoris decompression technique combined with a dynamic hip flexor stretch to address tension in the front of the thigh. Basic knee anatomy and why these techniques may be helpful for common front-of-knee pain. Equipment recommendations and safety precautions. These techniques are designed to complement a comprehensive exercise and stretching program and are not a replacement for strengthening exercises, medical evaluation, or individualized physical therapy. They are intended to help you move more comfortably so you can continue riding and enjoying time with your horse. Whether you're dealing with occasional knee discomfort after riding or looking to add another recovery tool to your routine, this course will teach you safe, practical techniques you can perform in just a few minutes at home.
